The Department of Housing and Ancillary Services collects, uses, and discloses your personal information to enable us to run an efficient and effective residence program. Within the University, we share personal information with a number of units including the Registrar's Office and Western Technology Services (WTS) in order to carry out routine administration. Where required to address specific incidents or concerns, we will share personal information with Campus Community Police Services, the Student Development Centre, Equity Services and Student Health Services.
In the course of providing better support and service, we collect basic information such as computer type, Ethernet address, operating system and relevant networking software installed. In the course of ensuring network security and consistent service for all users, software programs are employed to do such things as monitor network traffic, identify unauthorized access and detect viruses.
Information collected is normally used only for service and security reasons but we will release information to law enforcement agencies to assist in investigations.
